Voice of the Future – Empowering Youth for Global Impact
Moroccan Youth Diplomats (MYD) is a youth-led nonprofit organization founded in 2024 in Tangier, Morocco. We are a groundbreaking initiative designed to democratize diplomacy and international relations for all Moroccan youth, regardless of background.
Born from the idea that young voices deserve a place on the global stage, MYD brings together ambitious students and young professionals who are passionate about world affairs. Our community – often described as "Empowering Tomorrow by Bridging Cultures and Shaping Diplomacy" – provides a platform for young Moroccans to connect, learn, and lead.
We foster a vibrant network of future leaders through mentorship, inclusive programs, and real-world diplomatic experiences, truly becoming a "Voice of the Future" for Moroccan youth in global dialogue.
Our core mission is to empower the next generation of Moroccan leaders in diplomacy through several key objectives
Break down traditional barriers in politics and international relations, making these fields accessible to youth from all regions and backgrounds. We believe diplomacy should not be an elite domain – every young person with passion and talent deserves a seat at the table.
Inclusive AccessEncourage active youth participation in civic and global affairs. Through our programs, we shape future global leaders by honing skills in negotiation, public speaking, and critical thinking. MYD members learn to confidently voice their opinions and influence positive change on international issues.
Skills DevelopmentServe as a cultural bridge by connecting Moroccan youth with their peers worldwide. Our delegates proudly represent Moroccan perspectives on the international stage, promoting cross-cultural understanding and collaboration. We aim to strengthen Morocco's presence in youth forums around the globe.
Global ConnectionsProvide guidance and hands-on opportunities that transform interested youth into experienced "young diplomats." Seasoned mentors and experts coach our members, instilling values of professionalism, diplomacy, and ethical leadership.
Guided DevelopmentRepresent Morocco in international conferences and events through qualified and trained youth delegations. We focus on personal development so that alumni of MYD go on to excel as proactive global citizens.
National PrideBuild international relationship networks connecting Moroccan youth with their peers from various countries around the world. By pursuing these goals, Moroccan Youth Diplomats works to reshape international relations with fresh voices.
Global NetworkingMYD offers a range of initiatives and events that immerse youth in the world of diplomacy and international cooperation
We organize and send Moroccan youth delegations to prestigious Model UN and international conferences worldwide. In just the past year, our members have participated in high-profile events such as NAIMUN (North American Invitational Model United Nations) in Washington, D.C. and a Yale University-organized MUN in Seoul, South Korea, gaining invaluable experience in debate and global policymaking.
We are also honored to be attending upcoming conferences like NCSC LIII in Washington (run by the Georgetown International Relations Association) and the Future We Want Model United Nations (FWWMUN) in Abu Dhabi. Through these delegations, our youth delegates step into the shoes of diplomats, negotiate on pressing world issues, and often earn distinctions – for example, an MYD delegate won an award at NAIMUN's International Court of Justice simulation.
Moroccan Youth Diplomats actively organizes simulations and educational forums that bring diplomacy to life for Moroccan youth. These events allow participants to step into the shoes of world leaders and policymakers, practicing negotiation, speechmaking, and consensus-building in realistic, structured environments.
Participants simulate various international bodies and governmental institutions, gaining practical insights into how diplomacy works in real time. These forums focus on both global challenges and local policy issues, encouraging youth to think critically, collaborate across differences, and propose solutions that reflect both international understanding and national priorities. Beyond debate, these forums foster teamwork, leadership, and cultural exchange among youth from diverse academic and regional backgrounds. They are ideal entry points for students exploring international relations, law, or political science, offering hands-on learning and a supportive environment for emerging voices to be heard.
Education is at the heart of MYD's activities. We host dynamic workshops, training sessions, and bootcamps to prepare our members for diplomatic engagements. Topics range from Model UN basics and rules of procedure, to advanced modules on geopolitics, negotiation strategy, research, and resolution drafting.
We also conduct seminars on leadership development, communication skills, and cultural intelligence. Before any major conference, selected delegates undergo intensive preparation – including mock debates, briefings on international issues, and strategy meetings – to ensure they are confident and well-informed. These trainings are often led by experienced MUN alumni, diplomats, or subject-matter experts who mentor our youth. By investing in skill-building, we ensure that MYD participants not only attend events but truly shine in them.
MYD is a community where newcomers are guided by those with experience. We run mentorship programs pairing less experienced members with seasoned delegates or professionals in international relations. Regular networking events – such as roundtable discussions, guest speaker sessions, and informal "Diplomats Meet-and-Greet" gatherings – connect our youth with Moroccan and foreign diplomats, policy experts, and alumni.
These events help young members build a professional network, gain career insights, and find inspiration from real-world role models. Through our digital platforms and social media, we also provide a space for ongoing discussion, idea-sharing, and collaboration among youth interested in global affairs.
